You can now own your own, the Pearl Joey Jordison Export 7 Piece Double Bass Drum set. This drum set pays homage to the great heavy/nu-metal drummer of the band SlipKnot. Using the trim line of the Pearl Export series, this set is a great option for any rock or metal drummer looking to maximize versatility and speed while playing. These new export series kits are great sounding and rival the sound quality of the sets the pros use on tour. This kit is designed to match the specification of Joey meeting the highest quality possible; it even includes his signature snare drum and has the front bass drum skins with the Slipknot logo.

Specs of the Joey Jordison Drum Set:

This is a really great drum set at a really great price. The cymbals are not included, but that a good thing, it allows you to mix and match cymbals as you like to create your own custom sound for this set.

Bad news is that these sets are now out of production. You can still have a Joey Jordison drum set though, and here are a few ways. 1) Check out your local drum set to see if they have any in stock or have taken any on trade. 2) Check internet sites such as Craigslist. 3) Piece together you own set by ordering a pearl drum set in the same color and size specifications. 4) Check Ebay to see if anyone is selling the drumset used.

The drummer from Slipknot, Joey Jordison has recently partnered with Ahead to market the Joey Jordison Drum sticks. These are great stick, the ahead version have technology involved in these make them virtually impossible to break. The ProMark version is is made out of wood. Ahead uses (VRS) vibration reduction system to greatly reduce the amount of vibrations that reach the drummer’s hand, in turn reducing the fatigue the drummer feels on their hands. That along with the refined handle diameter will allow you to play faster and longer. Oh Yeah!

Being that Joey Jordison drum sticks is made from a metal allow instead of wood allows them to be balanced a lot better. Wood sticks can have a balance variation up to 20% whereas the allow construction of the ahead drumsticks allow them to have a balance variance of less than 1%. This means that every stick you will feel the same, taking one variable out of your playing, helping you be a better more precise drummer.

These sticks are nearly indestructible, but ahead does have replacement parts to keep them in tip top shape. The shaft of the drumsticks use hard polyurethane covers to help protect your drums as well as the sticks. Constant rim shots and cymbal crashes render any stick damaged after heavy use. No problem for these sticks, simple replace the polyurethane covers and you are playing again in 30 seconds flat.

They have also incorporated replaceable tips on these sticks. The high impact nylon tips are the old nylon tips that we all remember. Remember playing wood sticks with nylon tips and constantly losing the tips? I know we have all had it happen to us, but that a thing of the past. These nylon tips screw onto the stick and come in a bunch of different shapes, even mallets. Whatever your style, they have a tip to fit your needs.

TIP: When fastening your nylon tips to the stick, put a small drop of super glue on first. This will make sure the tips don’t loosen over time when playing. When you want to replace the nylon tips of the polyurethane shafts, simple use a pliers to break the hold of the glue.

Joey Jordison Drumsticks Ahead Specs:

Diameter: .540 inches

Wall thickness: .030 inches

Stick taper: medium

length: 15 11/16 inches

16″ L

.551″ D.

Yes, these are a bit more expensive than the wood counterpart, but they are well worth it. Imagine not having to worry about breaking a stick during a song, can you put a price on that. How many times have you gotten to a heavy part in a song just to have a stick break on you? We all know the drill, try to keep the snare and bass beat while you dramatically grab for another stick. Even if you do end up keeping the beat, people can still hear that part of the drum set dropped out. They last too, some say they would go through five to six pairs or the old wood sticks during the time Joey Jordison drumsticks last. In the long run you should save money, and play better to boot.

These sticks have all the things you are looking for in a drumstick: features, quality, value, and sound.

Joey doesn’t have his name on these sticks anymore, but fear not they are still in production under a different name, part # JJ1 – Speed Metal (MT). Same drumstick different name

ProMark is now the company that he endorces

This is a great little snare, the Joey Jordison Snare Drum more specifically the Pearl JJ-1355. This rocking snare is constructed with a 13” by 6.5” steel shell that is 1mm in thickness. The size and the construction of this drum gives it the ping and bite of a piccolo snare, but the full bodied fat tone of a deeper rock snare drum. This drum isn’t just confortable in rock and metal settings either, playing around with the tuning, it’s sound can be lent to just about any style of music.

This thing looks awesome! It features black Pearl Super Hoops as well as the Masters Series double ended lug system. All fits in nicely with the black painted shell with the Slipknot logo engraved in it.

The snare strainer is the Pearl model SR-017 strainer that uses a vertical pull method that keeps the snares securely against the bottom head with limited tension. This makes this snare responsive at all playing volumes.

Joey Jordison Snare Features:

Black 13” by 6.5” steel shell that is 1mm

Black Super Hoops (the good ones!)

Masters Series Double Ended Lug system with 10 lug rods

Slipknot logo engraved in the shell

The SR-017 snare strainer for maximum sensitivity at all playing volumes

Weight is 11.4 lbs.

For you collectors out there this snare is even available in a red finish, the Joey Jordison Signature JJ-1365RD Snare Drum. The reflective finish is a red burst style going for red to black. The logo is also a bit different, instead of the Slipknot tribal logo, there is a simple diamond with a “1″ engraved in it.

Even if you aren’t the biggest Slipknot fan, this is a great snare. Many say they prefer it for live playing, but it is still suitable for studio work. From country to heavy metal, you will love the Joey Jordison Snare Drum.

Lars Ulrich of Metallica now has his own signature set of drum sticks brought to you by the company Easton Ahead. You may know Ahead as the maker of great aluminum baseball bats, but they also make aluminum allow drum sticks, and last has a signature page available.

They feature a replaceable hard polyurethane shoulder on them. This means that as the stick starts to wear from rim shots and hitting the cymbals, all you have to do is replace the shoulder sleeve and you are good to go. No replacing the stick and now worrying about sticks breaking to a killer fill on one of your songs. Imagine that, not having to worry about breaking a stick mid song and having to try and pick up a new stick while keeping the beat.

These sticks are designed for harder hitting players in the rock and metal genre. They have great volume and projection, but are lighter due to design and won’t weigh you down. They will help you player fast and harder for a longer period of time. The response of the stick is great. Although a lot of the vibration is absorbed by the stick saving your hands and wrists from stress, they are surprisingly agile and playful. Many say that the bounce is great and that rolls are a lot easier.

Ahead Drumsticks Features

Vibration Reducing System (VRS) limits the vibrations that reach your hands and wrist

alloy custonstruction guarantees weight and balance variations >1% 20% with wood style sticks

Ergonomically crafted

Replaceable polyurethane covers protect both sticks and your cymbals and drums

Durable nylon tips

.595 inch Diameter

.035 inch Wall

Long Taper

16-1/4 inch length

Lars Ulrich Drum sticks have been around since about 1994, and he has been playing the since then. You know that if he has been playing them this long that they are a quality stick. Try them out today and see how great these drum sticks really are.
